So, you think your life is one boring commute between the office and your home ?
Are you dying to do stuff which you think all the cool guys and girls are doing ? If the last line sounded corny, wait till you hear the name of this new web service that just opened its doors, Diddit !
Diddit claims to let you, the user, “tick mark” all the things that you’ve done in your life, and help you find new stuff to do.
A free registration at the site will take you to the homepage, where you will be asked a question and asked to either tick mark it, if you’ve done it, or say that you wanna do it.

Diddit has tried to incorporate social features to the site by letting the users make friends with each other and see each others diddits and wanna do’s.
According to the site, there are almost 3,00,000 activities listed on the site, so you can be sure of finding some that you’ve done and more than enough of those that you wannado.

To be frank, I wasn’t very impressed with Diddit when I first saw it. The whole thing about adding diddit’s and wannado’s did seem a little pointless to me, but I can atleast see one useful thing about the site now.
The community.
The social nature of the website comes to the fore when you browse down to the individual activities.
Each activity on the site has a page associated with it, where users can comment on it, write reviews, suggest alternative things to do associated with the main activity and so on.
So, for example, you want to do the “Changing of the Guards” activity, and have some time to kill, you can just browse to the activity page on Diddit and see all the other activities that users are recommending that are related to the one that you are interested in.

Granted, some of those activities aren’t really in the vicinity but it’s an interesting way to learn more about similar stuff to do, and stuff that you might be interested in.
So, go ahead register on the site (it’s free) and let me know your thoughts on the service in the comments.

Hey — I’m the community manager over at Diddit. I really enjoyed your post. If you have any questions about the site or additional feedback, I’m here to help. Really cool blog you got here!
Hey Adena,
I’d really like if Diddit could add things to do in Asia also. Or let the users add stuff. If there is a way to let users add activities, I couldn’t find it rightaway.
I don’t really see the point of Diddit…
Besides it not covering my part of the world!
Ah well, the point is the same as of any other social network … I don’t see the point of facebook also, btw :-)
