If you’ve used Windows Vista for any length of time, you’ve probably encountered the User access control (UAC) dialogue box. UAC is the annoying feature which pops up dialogue boxes every now and then whenever it thinks that the user is doing something that could probably harm the computer.
It can be a useful feature if the user is a newbie and not very comfortable with using computers. For experienced users, though, its just an annoyance that most users can live without.
Fortunately, UAC is one feature than can be disabled for good. To disable it, open the “User accounts” panel from inside Control Panel.
Click on the link titled “Turn User Account Control on or off“.
This will pop up (yet another) dialogue asking you to confirm your choice and reboot your computer. UAC should now be disabled.

This is the first thing that I did when I installed Vista. I think it probably saves time by at least 30% every time I am working on Vista
