Google recently announced that it is going to stop any further development on the Google Notebook project. This is bad news for the 5 of you who actually used Google notebook for any productive use. The good news is that your existing data is not going anywhere and you can still use the data that you already have on the service using the web interface. The firefox extension is also going to be killed.
This, in my opinion, should be good news for Google Notebook’s competitors like Evernote and Ubernote, who should now be jumping over each other to get all those disgruntled google users to use their own services.
Ubernote seems to be winning this war for now. They have just announced a Google Notebook Import tool to help ease the migration.
The process basically involves exporting your notes from google notebook in the Atom format and then head on over to Ubernote and import them using the tool that they provide.
So, what are you guys waiting for, jump ship and enjoy the beautiful world that awaits you.
